Job Description:
The Engineer III (Controls) candidate will complete all phases of control system design and implementation within an appropriate scope of work, timeframe, and cost structure and will work under the supervision of the Controls Manager. The deliverables from this role include electrical engineering design and documentation, programming for logic controllers and visualization interfaces, and technical support for key customers.
- For assigned product lines, maintain a fully documented and accurate electrical design and electrical controls programs that comply with established Evergreen and industry standards.
- Maintain a cost balance for the electrical design that achieves the lowest base cost with the highest manufacturing efficiency and lowest warranty. This balance should also account for the highest operational efficiency and lowest maintenance requirement.
- Produce electrical design/program changes to support sale orders, product improvements, change requests and non-conformances for assigned product lines.
- Provide timely, complete, and consistent technical support to internal and external business customers as required in support of assigned product lines.
- Support the Controls Team to increase output, standardization, and repeatability of designs and programs through developing and continuously improving engineering tools and work processes.
The Controls Engineer will to complete all phases of the assigned accountabilities to a successful conclusion within the projected scope, timeframe, and budget. The assigned projects will be completed with minimal oversight from the Controls Manager. Collaboration with fellow Controls and Mechanical engineers is key.
Assignments will typically be with newer and mid-market level models with occasional sale order specials and product extensions. A solid technical knowledge of electrical system design and programing is key for this position, where the Controls Engineer is able to handle most assignments at a standard level of technology with minimal oversight.
The Controls Engineer in this position will provide a reasonable amount of support and training for lower-level staff and be able to coordinate a portion of their work through others.
Qualifications:
The Controls Engineer in this position will be capable of identifying and creating electrical standards, procedures, engineering tools, and process improvement initiatives with direction from the Controls Manager.
- Degreed Engineer (preferably electrical, will consider mechanical or chemical).
- 5-10 years of professional experience in Rockwell Allen-Bradley Controls Platforms.
- Design experience with Servo System is desired..
- Proficient with CAD. AutoCad or SolidWorks is preferred.
