Project Coordinator
Lansing, MI (Onsite Wednesday & Thursday, Remote Monday, Tuesday, Friday)
Contract with likelihood of permanent placement (40/hr week)
We're looking for an eager-to-learn Project Coordinator to support the administrative needs of our client's IT team. This position serves as a project coordinator for IT projects in the department portfolio. Conducting research and evaluation, assessment of needs through workshops and meetings and assisting in information gathering, budget analysis, and project execution is also required. The competencies critical to this position include project administration, organizational skills, time management, keen attention to detail, and the ability to identify and proactively recommend solutions. DETAILED LIST OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide assistance as needed in the development of Statements of Work (SOW) and Requests for Proposals (RFP) if department & client agency determine that outside contractors are needed for a given project.
- Participate in the local client agency SUITE Support Team and identify potential areas of improvement.
- Serve as a liaison between department and the client agency concerning requests, standards, and other program and project matters.
- Provide professional analytical expertise to department and client agency managers and supervisors in IT project planning.
- Interact with a variety of teams as needed to develop and maintain project schedules and related documents. (Project Management)
- Perform Portfolio and Release Management activities.
- Act as a project resource or project manager on special projects for the enterprise on an as-needed basis.
- Work with other project administrator(s) as needed.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, project management techniques, and external process changes by reading industry publications, attending training, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's degree in (16 semester credits) in Information Technology, IT Project Management, C.S., CIS/MIS, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
- Experience in the classroom or work with project administration, coordinating, scheduling, assistant high-level leaders, etc.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with management, business users and project team members.
- Ability to translate and communicate concepts, information, plans, and procedures to both technical personnel and non-IT business partners.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and presentation skills.
- Ability to assess priorities and operate in a flexible manner to meet the dynamic needs of the team.
- Ability to work independently and process quickly, independently prioritizing work activities.
