Objective:
To repair and maintain food packaging lines and blenders, along with performing minor building maintenance tasks.
Duties:
- Coordinate with the Plant Engineer to manage maintenance and repair activities in process areas.
- Prioritize food packaging equipment rebuilds and preventive maintenance through the Plant Engineer.
- Work with the lead mechanic and coordinator to schedule planned maintenance downtime proactively.
- Provide feedback to the Plant Engineer.
- Use a tablet to complete preventive maintenance (PM) tasks and close out work orders.
- Participate in maintenance training sessions.
- Disassemble, inspect, reassemble, troubleshoot, repair, and replace malfunctioning parts or equipment (motors, switches, sensors, input/output boards, controllers, gears, sprockets, chains, knives, etc.) using test equipment and meters such as VOM, megger, amp probe, and PC.
- Adhere to plant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Safety Regulations.
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational school is a plus.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience in industrial/manufacturing settings.
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment and an understanding of machinery operations.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Handle confidential information appropriately.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and shop tools.
- Knowledge of and ability to use electrical meters and welding equipment.
- Prior experience in industrial mechanics or maintenance operations is preferred.
- Proficient in using tablets.
- Experience with maintenance tracking software is a plus.
- Familiarity with efficiency tracking software is a plus.
- Completion of E-Maint Boot Camp is a plus.
- Spend 90% of the day standing and walking.
