Then apply today to our Legal Team at Ashley Furniture – the World’s Largest Furniture Manufacturer and number one furniture retailer in North America!
Our in-house legal team works daily supporting our growing, multi-billion dollar business. They oversee our intellectual property, contracts, litigation, and international work with a passion, drive and discipline like no other.
What Will You Do?
Your primary role will be defending the company in all aspects of claims and litigated matters in state and federal courts. You will lead document preservation efforts, conduct fact investigations, draft and revise legal documents, and negotiate settlements. This role will also involve directly managing outside counsel, including guiding case strategy, preparing and reviewing discovery, interviewing and preparing witnesses for deposition or trial, and ensuring compliance with outside counsel guidelines. The litigation team includes two paralegals, with whom you will work closely and provide direction. We also work very closely with the Risk Management team to manage claims ranging from personal injury to complex commercial disputes and class actions.
You will work closely with your assigned business leaders and the legal team to provide legal research and advice, both proactively and reactively, in your specific areas. You will recommend and implement best practices and proactive strategies consistent with legal requirements and emerging trends to minimize liability and promote the Company’s strategic plan. Working with stake holders and collaborating with business leaders will be a daily process as you develop, write, review and revise company policies and procedures. Representing Ashley, you will attend depositions, mediations, conferences, trials and meetings with regulators as necessary.
