As an AML Lead Engineer/Scientist, you’ll work alongside industry experts researching, developing and applying cutting-edge machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms. This will help build innovative technologies, services and products that solve the company's hardest problems and accelerate Best Buy's core growth. In this role you’ll combine your software engineering skills and knowledge of ML and AI algorithms to contribute to a team developing and operationalizing models, algorithms and production quality codebases. This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days on site at a Best Buy location and some days virtually at home or another non-Best Buy location. What you’ll do Lead operationalization of large-scale AI solutions, with AI Engineering and AIOps excellence, partnering closely with AI scientists Guide AI engineers leveraging the best AIOps and MLOps techniques to activate AI solutions at enterprise scale Use extensive knowledge of software engineering and AI to contribute to the roadmap of Best Buy’s core AI capabilities Partner with global cross-functional teams including AI, data, platforms, products, analytics, business and compliance Work through complex technical and business problems in high pressure scenarios, connecting the larger enterprise goals to teams’ tactical deliverables Basic qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a highly quantitative field (computer science, engineering, physics, math, operations research or related) or equivalent relevant professional experience 6 years of experience building and operationalizing ML/AI products 3 years of MLOps or AIOps experience, operationalizing real-time ML/AI models with ultra-low latency and high throughput as resilient, scalable, cloud native services 3 years of experience leading end to end design reviews, code reviews and deployment patterns for critical AI applications in one or more of Gen AI, supervised learning, unsupervised learning and reinforcement learning domains 3 years of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), building and maintaining ML/AI solutions with production grade pipelines Expert level understanding of Python ecosystem and common AI/ML frameworks (LangChain, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Seldon-Core) Expert level coding expertise in Python and SQL Expert level knowledge of MLOps/AIOps concepts and CI/CD pipelines Preferred qualifications Master’s degree or PhD. in a highly quantitative field (computer science, engineering, physics, math, operations research or related) or equivalent relevant professional experience Multi-cloud and multi-region integration experience Relevant certifications Open-source contributions or robust GitHub portfolio What’s in it for you We’re committed to helping our people thrive at work and at home.
