About you
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- 3+ years of experience as a Commercial/Residential Real Estate Law Clerk
- Knowledge of Registry, Land Titles and Polaris systems for title searching and registration in both paper-based and electronic land registration systems
- Experience with electronic database filings and processing high volumes of documentation
- College Law Clerk Diploma or Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario Certificate
- Strong computer skills in Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Strong work ethic, problem-solving, and commitment to excellence
- Bilingual (French) reading and writing abilities are an asset
About the role
If hired, you will:
- Assist lawyers with commercial real estate transactions and due diligence tasks
- Conduct, review, and report on title and off-title searches for transactions
- Interact with the land registry office to resolve unique title issues in real-time
- Manage and organize portfolio transactions while liaising with key stakeholders
- Draft key documents, including requisitions, closing documents, and final reports
- Participate in closing, purchase sale, and financing transactions
- Be responsible for matter management and data management, including scoping and budgeting
