Position Summary:

The Production Manager plays a vital role in daily plant operations, working closely with the Plant Manager to oversee production planning, execution, and quality control processes.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations Management:

• Supervise framing, shipping/receiving, maintenance, and quality control operations.
• Approve production orders and collaborate regularly with procurement and planning teams.
• Analyze production data for improvement opportunities.
• Participate actively in cycle and annual inventory counts.
• Monitor product quality and craftsmanship to uphold quality standards.
• Work closely with different departments to reduce inventory losses and optimize recovery.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Labour Management:

• Develop production schedules and communicate labor needs to the Production Supervisor.
• Oversee employee relations, performance management, recruitment, and job postings.
• Enforce plant guidelines.

Health & Safety Management:

• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures.
• Provide guidance on occupational health and safety (OHS) programs
• Train employees on safety protocols and procedures.
• Actively participate in the Health and Safety Committee.
• Assist the Plant Manager in reporting workplace accidents to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).
• Commit to upholding all plant safety policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years in a related production/operations role.
• Ability to train, motivate, and coach employees.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards.
