Position Summary:
The Production Manager plays a vital role in daily plant operations, working closely with the Plant Manager to oversee production planning, execution, and quality control processes.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Management:
- Supervise framing, shipping/receiving, maintenance, and quality control operations.
- Approve production orders and collaborate regularly with procurement and planning teams.
- Analyze production data for improvement opportunities.
- Participate actively in cycle and annual inventory counts.
- Monitor product quality and craftsmanship to uphold quality standards.
- Work closely with different departments to reduce inventory losses and optimize recovery.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Labour Management:
- Develop production schedules and communicate labor needs to the Production Supervisor.
- Oversee employee relations, performance management, recruitment, and job postings.
- Enforce plant guidelines.
Health & Safety Management:
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide guidance on occupational health and safety (OHS) programs
- Train employees on safety protocols and procedures.
- Actively participate in the Health and Safety Committee.
- Assist the Plant Manager in reporting workplace accidents to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).
- Commit to upholding all plant safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years in a related production/operations role.
- Ability to train, motivate, and coach employees.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards.
