Principal Implementation Engineer – AtHoc

Working as part of our professional services team, the Principal Implementation Engineer will be responsible for deploying AtHoc’s IWS Alerts and related products in our customer’s environments. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the installation and deployment of enterprise-level software and will have 5-10 years of experience in a fast-paced environment and can install software in an enterprise, networked, distributed, and cloud environments. This candidate should be comfortable driving installation and deployment standards and work well in front of customers. The position will require up to 30% travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide remote and on-site implementation services for BlackBerry AtHoc’s products.
  • Own the technical side of assigned customer deployments from architecture to support hand-off.
  • Be an on-going point of contact for customer technical inquiries.
  • Create and maintain customer deployment and interaction reports.
  • Assist customers in achieving self-sufficiency with BlackBerry AtHoc’s products.
  • Contribute to and maintain a solutions knowledge base.

Requirements:

  • Project engineering experience with Commercial and/or Federal government customers.
  • System administration experience with current Microsoft server and desktop operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and LDAP queries.
  • Web application server deployment experience, preferably in IIS.
  • Experience with security hardening of applications and operating systems.
  • Familiarity with enterprise software distribution technologies (SCCM, Radia, Altiris).
  • Hands-on experience with Windows administrative scripting (PowerShell, VBScript).
  • Working knowledge of SQL (e.g., Deployment, writing basic queries and stored procedures, managing maintenance plans, DB restores/backups).
  • Experience with load balancer setup and configuration.
  • Ability to write detailed implementation plans.
  • Ability to create presentations and brief at all levels of the organizational hierarchy.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical audiences.
  • Project management and personal workload prioritization skills.
  • Comfortable supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Work well under pressure and tight timelines.
  • Be accountable and with strong sense of ownership and excellent communication and execution skills.
  • Hold a valid US Passport and be willing to travel when needed to customer sites. Approximately 30% travel required.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Hands-on experience with developing applications using Microsoft .Net or other modern languages.
  • Fluency in either French, Italian, German, or Spanish.
