Job Title: Engineering Project Manager

Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000/year
Duration: Full-time Permanent
Basic Purpose
The Engineering Project Manager will manage and implement various projects related to production operations management and expansion across U.S. operations. This role oversees the planning, design, and execution of projects such as plant expansions, equipment installations, and system designs. The Engineering Project Manager coordinates internal and external resources, collaborating closely with maintenance and production teams to ensure successful project completion. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and the Maintenance Director, with the Director of Maintenance serving as backup.
Responsibilities
- Develop and update project engineering procedures, including project administration processes and contract documentation guidelines.
- Provide technical oversight and coordination for project engineering activities.
- Monitor project progress through coordination meetings and other means, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
- Review project designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, contract requirements, and specifications.
- Recommend resource allocation to achieve project goals.
- Oversee capital projects, tracking progress and performance against the capital improvement plan.
- Evaluate and approve changes impacting project scope, budget, or schedule.
- Use presentation software to explain complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
- Participate as an active member of the plant management team, supporting other functions as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project files and drawings.
- Identify and resolve safety, ergonomic, and operational issues through proper equipment design.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, manuals, and diagrams.
- Prepare bid packages, including scopes of work.
- Support projects across all facilities.
- Ensure contractors are pre-qualified for project delivery.
- Provide technical direction to the supply chain for procurement related to project delivery.
- Facilitate and participate in planning processes, offering input on facility operations, maintenance, repairs, and project execution.
Education / Training - Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or a related field (required); Master's degree or MBA (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project and/or plant engineering management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Related Experience / Requirements - At least 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in engineering and project management.
- 3-5 years of management experience.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in food processing, including thermal processes and sanitation.
- Experience with automation and control systems (preferred).
Qualifications - Strong ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and manage workload effectively.
- Experience in the private manufacturing sector.
- Proven ability to analyze and compile data for accurate reporting.
