Arthrex is a global medical device company and leader in orthopedics medical education. With a corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™, Arthrex has pioneered the field of arthroscopy and develops more than 1,000 innovative products and procedures each year that support all aspects of orthopedics. The Custom Dev .NET Intern position will provide support and information to assist the Custom Dev Team. Our interns get a chance to explore the full Arthrex SDLC cycle on an existing application or an application they work with other Arthrex developers to produce themselves. This gives the intern a glimpse into what it means to write good requirements, the development aspect, SQA, deployment and production support. During this internship, our student would be responsible for providing status updates during our standups as well as learning our tech development stack and exploring any new technologies that might help with our development.
This internship will run from May 2025 – August 2025. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.
Main Objective:
To gain experience with web development skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work to gather and write business requirements with our BAs.
- Utilizing above requirements to learn our .NET development language for functionality and setup.
- Collaborate with the SQA team to test the application.
- Demo the application changes and answer questions with regards to functionality and potential during UAT sessions with business stakeholders.
- Prepare deployment documentation and present to weekly CAB meeting.
- Perform deployment of application changes and post deployment verification.
- Working with our support team, coordinate the post go live support and analysis of the application.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree or recent graduate required. Information Systems, Computer Science and Mathematics preferred.
(Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
- Basic to intermediate computer skills. Be able to follow written and verbal direction.
- Any object orientated programming language (C#, Java, etc) experience preferred.
- Exposure to databases (SQL, Oracle, etc.) preferred.
- Ability to work in a team collaborative environment.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
