Contract: W2, Holiday Season Coverage: (Nov 18, 2024 - Dec 13, 2024)
Location: Hybrid - New York, NY 10038
Pay Range: $44-$48/hour DOE
Job Summary:
The Freelance Designer will play a key role in creating commercially viable product designs including Bras, Panties, Sleepwear, etc. This senior-level position involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop on-brand designs that meet business objectives while addressing current fashion trends and customer needs.
Responsibilities:
- Design brand-right, commercial products that align with overall business strategy, focusing on style, color, fit, and fabric.
- Develop seasonal collections, including sketches, prototypes, and specifications, adapting designs based on feedback for finalization.
- Conduct trend analysis and competitor research, sourcing new ideas and anticipating customer needs.
- Present design concepts to internal leaders and cross-functional partners, collaborating with Merchandising, Marketing, and Product Development teams.
- Mentor junior design talent, fostering a collaborative environment and developing team skills.
- Ensure all deliverables meet quality, budget, and time requirements, maintaining speed and agility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of design experience in a comparable retail environment, ideally in casual sleepwear, intimates, or loungewear.
- Able to start November 18th, 2024
- Proficiency in CAD illustration, technical design specifications (TP), and familiarity with Centric PLM.
- Strong eye for commercial fashion, styling, and detail, along with solid communication and presentation skills.
- Team-oriented with the ability to manage and inspire others while working effectively under time pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Moderate domestic and minimal international travel may be required.
