OverviewnnThe Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering customer orders in a productive, time sensitive and customer-oriented manner on a daily basis, ensuring efficiency, timeliness and customer satisfaction. This position must demonstrate safety, quality, operational expertise, and show proficiency when performing at least two delivery related activities, such as multiple route knowledge, delivery process expertise and procedural knowledge, and the ability to train associates in delivery functions.nnPrimary Responsibilities:nnOperate delivery vehicles in a safe and lawful manner. Responsible for the vehicle and its contents while following standard operating procedures. Must complete daily pre and post trip checklist.nnDelivers product to customer locations meeting established delivery goals while ensuring efficiency, timeliness and customer satisfaction. Must collect and track customer returns through established Service Level Agreement.nnLoad, unload and secure product(s) to ensure customers receive clean and damage free merchandise.nnComplete daily route and all appropriate paperwork. Communicate obstacles in Tier meeting that prohibit us from meeting established goals. Communicate customer feedback to sales and/or supervisory personnel.nnContribute ideas and suggestions for improvement utilizing LEAN practices.nnActively support implementation of and contribute ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement to the delivery processes.nnEducation and Experience:nnLevel of Formal Education: High School diploma or equivalent educaiton preferrednnYears of Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of experience in related fieldnnType of Experience:nnRoute or box delivery driving experience of customer goods and merchandise.nnAt least five years of experience driving and possessing a valid driver's license.nnPrevious track record of meeting/exceeding metrics measuring performance, safety, attendance, quality, and customer service. Experience in the use of pallet jacks, hand trucks and forklift preferred.nnSpecial Certifications:nnValid driver’s license in the state the Delivery Driver position is offered.nnSatisfactory driving record reflected during a rolling 36-month average.nnAbility to obtain a DOT Medical CertificationnnTechnical Competencies & Information Systems:nnExperience using POD or tablet device in the scanning of customer products.nnFamiliarity with scanner and GIS devices preferred.nnSkills & Abilities:nnAbility to communicate both verbally and in writing, using the English language (English competency), Bilingual a plusnnBasic product knowledgennKnowledge of operation of power/mobile equipmentnnAbility to understand addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.nnGeographical knowledge of the delivery service area once trainednnPersonal Attributes:nnMinimum of 21 years oldnnDemonstrate a commitment to Office Depot/ Veyer Core Values and adherence to established Standard Operating ProceduresnnPhysical stamina needed to transport, carry and load cartons of paper, water, furniture and mixture of other loads up to 100 pounds with use of appropriate equipment as needed.nnAbility to use manual pallet jacks to transport pallets of products up to 2,500 pounds.nnAbility to work in all types of weather due to various climate changes.nnRepetitive lifting of products such as paper.
