Duties/Responsibilities: - Conduct one's activities according to corporate policies including attendance and safety.
- Add and receive all orders into QAD.
- Verify quantity against supplier paperwork. (i.e. Packing Slip / Bill of Lading)
- Deliver Dept. orders to recipients.
- Coordinate with Quality and download COA's into database.
- Coordinate with Sales rep to maintain proper level of F P boxes.
- Communicate and coordinate necessary information to appropriate department/shift employees to ensure effective operations.
- Safely load/unload trucks. Need to be certified Tow-motor operator.
- Coordinate deliveries, which involve assistance in loading/unloading of vehicles.
- Maintain a safe clean work area.
- Add water to tow motor batteries.
- Keep work areas clean at all times including but not limited to: Outside docks, receiving area, all aisles, workstations, excess pallet wrap hanging off skids.
- Properly inspect and maintain material handling equipment prior to start of shift in accordance with OSHA regulation.
- Daily empty recycling into Gaylord's
- Monthly coordinate with recycling rep to order empty Gaylord's.
- Any/All duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities: - Computer skills; AS400, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Lotus notes, UPS World Ship and Fed-Ex Power ship.
- International shipping experience (export documents shipper export declaration)
- ASN database experience.
- Strong Math Skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work in a "TEAM" environment.
- Ability to drive a lift truck safely.
- Fork Truck certification.
- Commitment to perform tasks correctly the first time.
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts. (ELS)
- Ability to think ahead, anticipates problems, make decisions and take action.
Education and Experience: - High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1- 3 years' experiences in Shipping/Receiving and Material handling is desirable.
- General mechanical knowledge is desirable.
Physical Requirements: - Prolonged periods of standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift consistently, 50-70 pound boxes.
- Ability to climb a ladder frequently carrying 10 pound boxes to be placed on upper shelves for stacking purposes.
