Job Highlights The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative support to the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including recruitment, onboarding, medical leaves, benefit administration, employee engagement, and employee relations.
Job Summary & Requirements Duties/Responsibilities: - Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Under the supervision of Senior HR staff, recruits candidates, conducts initial phone screens, schedules onsite interviews and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.
- Helps facilitate the onboarding process for all new hires by working closely with the hiring managers.
- Serves as point person for medical leaves of absence ensuring constant communication between employees, corporate, payroll, and management escalating to Senior HR staff/management as needed.
- Assist employees with ADP during open enrollment by walking them through the enrollment process when questions or concerns arise.
- Assists with the planning and execution of special events/projects such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, recruitment events, EHS events, special trainings, etc.
- Assists Sr HR in researching various types of grants available and the criteria to qualify for each grant.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Prior related office experience preferred.
- PHR or SHRM-CP a plus.
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
