You don't have to be a gourmet chef but you can prepare a good meal and work your way around a kitchen. You are able to perform other assigned activities which are taught by a nurse, for a specific patient, which includes but is not limited to:Assisting with the change of ostomy appliancesReinforcement of dressings (non-sterile)Assisting with the use of devices for aid in daily living (cane, walker, wheelchair or lift device)Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercisesAssisting with self-administered simple urine tests for sugar acetone or albumin (may not interpret results)Measuring and preparing special dietsMeasuring intake and outputTaking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure)Application of an external (condom-type) catheterAssisting with application of arm sling, arm splint or leg splintMust Haves: High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificateSix months experience as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in health care (in homes or facilities) and successful completion of a State approved Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) courseThe Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) shall have successfully completed a Competency Evaluation that meets the State licensing law for home health agenciesMust have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick, and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the jobCurrent CPR Certificate is recommendedMeets the requirements for employees providing direct patient careRead, write, speak and understand English as needed for the jobHave a valid driver's license and use of an insured automobile for work or access to adequate transportationWhy Right at Home?
