ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Utility Worker performs cleaning, fueling, and light maintenance duties as directed by the maintenance staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Washes outside of vehicles as scheduled using steam cleaner, brushes, hoses, soap and water, and special cleaners to ensure a clean and professional appearance.
  • Cleans interior of vehicles using brooms, mops, rags and cleaning products on a "when needed" basis.
  • Collects and turns in lost and found items during interior cleaning process. Documents items on the Lost and Found Log, affixes tag to items, and turns them over to the Maintenance Manager for secure storage.
  • Assists mechanical staff on a regular basis as needed. Keep work area clean and orderly. Follows all safety practices. Brings all safety problems to the attention of the Maintenance Manager immediately.
  • Performs additional duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager or Designee.
Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Availability: Sunday - Saturday all hours of operation and holidays
  • Must have at the time of employment and maintain throughout the period of employment, an operational telephone.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT DRUG & ALCOHOL:
Must successfully pass pre-employment drug test, as well as random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol tests.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
There are no supervisory responsibilities.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow the work practices and standard operating procedures for this position. Use and/or wear the appropriate equipment, protective devices or clothing required. Report health and safety concerns related to performing the duties of your job to supervisors and report any on-going/unresolved health and safety concerns to the Maintenance Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, must be at least 21 years of age an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. On-the-job training will be provided to the successful candidate. The successful applicant must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions to maintain accurate records and daily logs. Must be a licensed driver with no serious moving violations on record.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to two years of related experience and/or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables that may take place during an average workday.
CERTIFICATES, LICESES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess a valid Indiana Driver's License with a good driving record. Must obtain certificates in Fire Extinguisher Safety, CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens, First Aid and CPR and Safety Training.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand long periods of time, using hands and fingers. The individual is also required to handle and feel, be able to talk and listen. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Must be able to bend, stoop and kneel on knees on a repetitive basis. While performing the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers; talk and listen. The employee frequently is required to walk, and is required to stand, reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently move up to 50 pounds or more.
