Summary: The Vice President, Manufacturing and Business Operations is responsible for formulating strategies, improving performance and capacity expansion in a multi-faceted, high-tech facility. The successful candidate will have considerable experience in industrial manufacturing operations, supply chain and logistics. Reporting to the President & CEO, the Vice President, Manufacturing and Business Operations will provide leadership and direction to the team while nurturing a culture of collaboration, accountability, transparency, and professionalism within a growth-focused dynamic environment. They will develop strong stakeholder relations internal and external to the organization, while having an executive presence to interact at all levels in the organization, and effectively drive a high performance culture and high quality standards across the business.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership Develops and implements the Company’s manufacturing vision, strategies, policies, programs and processes across all Canadian manufacturing facilities.
Develops and leads the implementation of operational plans and programs to drive high levels of performance by all key individuals and teams across the manufacturing organization.
Provides the leadership and supports transformational change required to create, build, and optimize performance and efficiency for the company’s inventory control and manufacturing functions (manufacturing, inventory control, maintenance, quality and safety).
Provides professional leadership and management across all components of the company’s manufacturing organization to ensure standards of performance that will evolve the company’s manufacturing to a world-class profitable operation as demand grows.
Develops and implements specific programs to optimize inventory to best serve the needs of the business with the objective of increased efficiencies, supply chain elasticity, improved cost position, high levels of quality, customer satisfaction and employee safety.
Creates and executes a strategic roadmap for sustainable change initiatives centered on process optimization and company and financial performance.
Collaborates with Sales, Marketing and Customer Service to ensure coordination in an effort to reach organizational goals and incorporate Mircom’s philosophy and culture into our brand and customer experience.
Financial and Best Practice
Introduces best practice processes and concepts for a multi-location environment to foster higher levels of operational efficiency and excellence in the enterprise.
Monitors financial performance of the manufacturing department, developing and implementing cost-saving initiatives, using insights from KPIs to improve processes and boost operational efficiency.
Creates and analyzes reports to evaluate the results of operational activities, based on measuring key metrics and findings; uses metrics to drive future strategies in manufacturing operations.

Compliance
Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including compliance with ISO and safety standards.
Ensures that business processes are systematized to ensure consistent service delivery, increasing productivity, and regulatory compliance.
Coordinates with Human Resources to ensure the execution of programs and procedures in compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations.
Executes continuous improvement, quality and sustainability initiatives.
Requirements and Skills:
University degree in business, engineering, or related field.
10+ years of progressive experience in a leadership role in manufacturing and business operations.
Extensive technical experience with electronics product manufacturing.
Proven track record of increasing efficiency and productivity in a manufacturing setting.
Working knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting and analytics.
Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Experience working in an entrepreneurial, collaborative environment and able to direct and work in harmony with a diverse group of highly motivated and capable individuals.
Exceptional business and financial acumen, with a proven history of innovation, growth, and a passion for sustainability and safety stewardship.
