THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections, Field Human Resource Office in Region 11 is looking for a Human Resource Assistant 1 to provide HR support within State Correctional Institutions (SCI) Dallas and Waymart. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Human Resource Assistant, you will be responsible for performing a variety of human resource support functions within SCI Waymart and Dallas. Organization skills are essential as you will be tracking progress reviews, maintaining online personnel files, and assisting with assembling grievance packets. Work includes providing guidance to supervisors and staff as well as leading orientation for new employees. This requires you to maintain a thorough knowledge of HR standards and procedures, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is provided. You will have the opportunity to showcase your communication skills as you provide customer service to staff and address inquiries from the general public. You will also be responsible for performing routine administrative tasks as needed to ensure efficiency throughout the office.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, located at SCI Dallas
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week, upon successful completion of the 6 month probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Dallas.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of clerical or other comparable experience which involved obtaining, providing, and evaluating information in accordance with established standards; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
