DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will carry out standardized road tests to assess the skills and abilities of applicants in a safe and courteous manner. Your responsibilities include evaluating the applicant's physical condition and driving qualifications, as well as checking the mechanical state of vehicles according to set guidelines.
You will conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections before the driving tests, ensuring that vehicles have valid inspection stickers and functioning lights, wipers, and other essential features for safety. Additionally, you will review applications, registrations, and permits for any signs of irregularities or fraud. You will also administer knowledge tests for both CDL and Non-CDL applicants to gauge their understanding of motor vehicle laws and traffic signs, while assessing their practical driving skills and adherence to road rules. Vision tests, including tele-binocular and color perception assessments, will also be part of your duties.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 80 hours bi-weekly
- Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position may require overtime and travel.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (commonwealth title); or
- Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
Special Requirements: - All positions require an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License
or equivalent and twenty-one years of age at the time of application. - All positions require no suspensions or revocations of a driver's license during the
five year period immediately preceding employment. - All employees in this job hired after February 28, 2022, are required to obtain an
active unrestricted Class M driver's license within the first six months of employment
or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment. - This position requires possession of an active Class A Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License or equivalent with the following endorsements: P and N and air brake restriction (L) lifted. The Commercial Driver License cannot have any of the following restrictions: E, L, N, O, or Z.

Legal Requirements: - This position requires the selected candidate to undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment.
