Day to Day:
We are looking for a Payroll Analyst on behalf of one of our clients in the events industry! This company has been leading the industry that brings audiences together for nearly 100 years and is looking to grow their payroll department. This individual will oversee payroll accounts, handle reporting, perform audits, and assist with payroll operations. The Payroll Analyst will collaborate with accounting teams to process payroll data, ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, and provide expertise on complex payroll transactions. This position is crucial for maintaining payroll accuracy, analyzing data for process enhancements, and offering advice on compliance and policy matters.
This role will support our Payroll team and offers a hybrid work schedule, typically requiring 2-3 days per week in-office or on-site. The position is based in our North Dallas office in Dallas, TX.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis: Examine payroll data to identify trends, track performance metrics, and suggest improvements.
- Report Preparation: Generate detailed accounting schedules, summaries, and reports, including garnishment and compliance reports.
- Compliance Advisory: Research and interpret state and federal laws, advising payroll staff on regulatory compliance and the proper accounting treatment of complex payroll transactions.
- Audits and Reconciliation: Conduct internal payroll audits, prepare for external audits, and perform routine account reconciliations to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
- Database Management: Design, implement, and maintain payroll databases to support efficient data management and reporting.
- Staff Training: Provide training and guidance to payroll staff on payroll processes, reporting standards, and compliance matters.
- Cross-Department Coordination: Collaborate with HR, finance, and accounting teams to streamline payroll operations and resolve cross-functional payroll issues.
- Special Projects: Contribute to or lead special projects, using analytics and reporting to measure success and drive continuous improvement.
Minimum Requirements:
- 3 years of payroll experience in an analytical role.
- Proficiency in payroll software and data analytics tools.
- Strong Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor compliance.
- Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field OR 2 years of additional experience.
- Highly skilled with Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP & Pivot Tables.
Preferred Requirements:
- SAP, ADP, or SpinifexIT specific experience in a payroll environment.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Dashboard reporting experience with Power BI.
- Payroll accounting experience.
- Union experience.
