Position Summary:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering design and a passion for creating innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for a variety of products using SolidWorks.
- Conduct feasibility studies and perform engineering calculations to ensure designs meet performance requirements.
- Create detailed drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
- Create comprehensive validation plans for new products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new product designs.
- Conduct design reviews and testing to validate product performance.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
- Strong computer aided design (CAD) skills, preferably with SolidWorks.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles and materials.
- Strong understanding of fluid dynamics.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong mechanical skills and exposure to ASME Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5
- Ability to multitask and organize/prioritize job assignments in a rapidly changing, short turn-around environment.
- Basic understanding of structural and thermal dynamics.
- Material selection experience of both metals and plastics.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes to include, but not limited to, machining and injection molding.
- Understanding of design for assembly / design for manufacturing (DFA/DFM).
