Position Summary:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering design and a passion for creating innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for a variety of products using SolidWorks.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and perform engineering calculations to ensure designs meet performance requirements.
  • Create detailed drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
  • Create comprehensive validation plans for new products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new product designs.
  • Conduct design reviews and testing to validate product performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
  • Strong computer aided design (CAD) skills, preferably with SolidWorks.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles and materials.
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong mechanical skills and exposure to ASME Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5
  • Ability to multitask and organize/prioritize job assignments in a rapidly changing, short turn-around environment.
  • Basic understanding of structural and thermal dynamics.
  • Material selection experience of both metals and plastics.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes to include, but not limited to, machining and injection molding.
  • Understanding of design for assembly / design for manufacturing (DFA/DFM).
