Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to design and implement control systems for robotics, conveyor/material handling, and other automation systems. This advanced engineering role requires extensive prior experience and technical expertise in automation and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze customer requirements and develop control system designs to meet those needs.
  2. Design, test, and implement automation systems for various applications.
  3. Create and maintain engineering documentation, including wiring schematics, assembly drawings, bills of material, and panel machining drawings.
  4. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure equipment meets design specifications and customer expectations.
  5. Participate in customer and prospect presentations, collaborating with sales staff as needed.
  6. Keep thorough records of each project from inception to completion.
  7. Occasional travel, including international trips, may be required.
  8. Stay up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends related to Simplimatic products and services.
  9. Ensure system functionality through proper operation, error recovery, and adherence to DFMEA guidelines.
  10. Maintain the company’s reputation for quality by adhering to safety regulations and standards.
  11. Lead and mentor build technicians to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  12. Continuously improve professional and technical skills by attending workshops, trade shows, and staying current with industry publications and networks.
  13. Contribute to the success of the team by meeting project goals and supporting related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  2. At least 5-7 years of experience in designing control systems for capital equipment.
  3. Extensive experience in robotics and PLC programming, with the ability to design and program complex robotics applications from the ground up.
  4. Proficiency with AB & Omron PLCs, HMI, and Servo Systems.
  5. Experience with AutoCAD Electrical.
