Sunrise Soya Foods, founded in 1956, is Canada's leading tofu manufacturer known for high-quality tofu and soy beverage products. We are looking for a Plant Manager for our Delta Location.
Role Description
The Plant Manager will lead and oversee the administration of all plant operations, including production, maintenance, warehousing, and office functions. This role focuses on guiding the management team to drive production growth, manage costs, reduce waste, ensure equipment operation, and maintain high-quality standards. The Plant Manager will build and nurture relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal department managers, aligning plant operations with strategic priorities to foster a transparent and equitable work environment.
- Leadership: Enforce safety, quality, and productivity standards; implement corporate vision; promote a collaborative leadership style; maintain workforce morale; meet regularly with department heads to resolve issues.
- Production: Analyze KPIs, drive improvement initiatives, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
- Quality: Ensure compliance with health and safety, food safety, and regulatory standards.
- Equipment: Oversee equipment operation, preventive maintenance, and compliance with quality specifications.
- Financial: Manage budgeting, financial performance, and key performance indicators to meet facility goals.
Qualifications
- College diploma, University degree, or technical certifications in food production or relevant experience.
- Strong skills in MS Office and knowledge of continuous improvement practices in food manufacturing.
- 10+ years of supervisory production experience in a manufacturing setting, ideally in food production.
- Effective leadership, strategic thinking, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems
Work Conditions
- Full-time, permanent role with flexible hours based on production needs.
- Split between office and production facility, with exposure to variable temperatures and noise.
