Facilities Technician
Starting Salary: $38,906 - $42,796 DOQ
Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to perform skilled building maintenance work. This position is responsible for performing tasks requiring some physical strength and stamina in the electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire safety systems and other areas of maintenance and repairs. Work involves reviewing & prioritizing work orders, performing repairs in a timely and efficient manner, repairing plumbing fixtures, drywall, ceiling and floor tiles, electrical repairs, inspecting & minor repairs to roofing, assisting in loading/unloading trucks, replacing/installing locks and responding to HVAC problem calls.
This position is a part of an on-call rotating schedule shared by department team members that provides emergency maintenance services 24 hours per day/seven days a week. The facilities technician position is snow essential.
A valid driver’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Type I and II Refrigerant Transition and Recovery (CFC) certification with one-year experience in and/or training that includes plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC preferred. Applicant is required to undergo a CJIS background check.
