Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Health & Safety Coordinator to join their team. This role involves working closely with site management teams to implement and maintain comprehensive safety programs, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and fostering a culture of workplace safety.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with site managers to maintain safety management systems that align with WorkSafeBC and Certificate of Recognition standards.
  • Conduct annual surveys, risk assessments, and site audits to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Monitor compliance with safety programs, respond to inspection reports, and oversee incident investigations.
  • Provide training to workers and managers on occupational health and safety topics.
  • Evaluate and enhance accident prevention programs and analyze safety data to identify trends.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on health and safety legislation, providing guidance and developing strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Support safety committees and recommend resources, tools, and training to enhance safety culture.


Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years of recent experience in occupational health and safety or a related field.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.


Additional Requirements:


  • Flexibility to travel between multiple worksites.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle for commuting and work-related travel (mileage reimbursed).
