Our client, located in Brampton is seeking a stellar Health and Safety Specialist to join their team. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience working within a similar capacity, working fully ON-SITE.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Inspections & Audits: Regularly conduct site audits to identify potential risks and implement corrective measures for regulatory compliance.
- Health & Safety Program Management: Develop and enhance a safety program that aligns with company objectives and fosters a safe work culture.
- Policy & Compliance: Create and enforce health and safety policies, ensuring alignment with legal standards and industry practices.
- Injury Claims & RTW Management: Oversee Workers' Compensation claims, lead investigations, and manage Return-to-Work programs for injured employees.
- Safety Support: Provide guidance to all branches on safety protocols, ensuring the correct use of equipment and adherence to safety standards.
- Incident Management: Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and implement solutions to prevent future issues.
- Safety Reporting: Track and analyze safety data, reporting trends and suggesting improvements.
- Training & Safety Methods: Deliver safety training and promote safe work practices across the organization.
- Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain safety records and follow up with staff to ensure compliance.
- Branch Visits: Occasional travel to branch locations to provide onsite support and conduct inspections.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5 years of relevant experience working within Health and Safety
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Experience and knowledge with WSIB
