Descriptionnn$4,000 - Sign-On Bonus for Full-time externals only, pro-rated for Part-timennMedical Office LPN OB/ GYN-Fishkill, NY 40 hours per week, Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm & Friday 8:00am-4:00pm.nnSummary: Performs tasks and responsibilities within the framework of case finding, health teaching, health counseling, and provision of supportive and restorative care under the direction of a registered nurse or licensed health care provider.nnResponsibilities:nnGreet patients in waiting area, escort patients to clinical areas, check-outs and answer patient questions.nnTelephone call-backs, and telephone care as directed by physician/provider and RN.nnPatient counseling and education as directed by provider (verbal, brochures, handouts).nnResponsible for HPN and NYSIIS immunization registration reprinting and account updates if applicable.nnPreparation of medical record in advance of appointment. This includes anticipatory tasks such as consent forms, ABNs, PHI Release, obtaining medical records from other providers/facilities, and updating of EMR, when appropriate.nnPatient check-in: obtain and document chief complaint, vital signs, history, ordered CLIA waived tests; Capture charges for provision of ancillary services.nnAssists patients with the completion of patient summaries, medication/allergy reconciliation at every office visit, history forms, and in obtaining appropriate treatment consents, including administering and documenting injections, dispensing and documenting medications as directed by physician/provider.nnPrepare patient and exam room; chaperone and assist physician/provider with examination, procedures and treatments if needednnLabeling and handling of labs, pap smears, cultures, biopsies and other specimens; Preparation of laboratory and imaging requisitions.nnAssist with coordination of further patient care and follow-up, and carry out tasks as directed by RN and/or physician/provider. This may include communication with patient, hospital, labs, imaging centers, pharmacies, physician offices, insurance plans.nnDocument all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, tests and treatments, in the medical.nnAssumes responsibility for patient flow and ensure that patients have follow up testing and appointment with physicians.nnMaintain and Model Nuvance Health Values.nnDemonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.nnMaintain and Model Nuvance Health Foundational Values (Personal, Imaginative, Agile, Connected).nnPerforms other duties as required.nnRequired:nnBasic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of starting.nnLicensed Practical Nurse licensure.nnBasic medical knowledge and terminology.nnComputer skills/data entry.nnSkilled in obtaining accurate patient vitals.nnVaccine administration and medication preparation.nnPreferred:nnMinimum Experience: one year.nnProficiency in multiple languages.nnPhlebotomy.nnEKG.nnEducation Required:nnHS Graduate or Equivalent.nnGraduate of an accredited LPN Program.nnWorking Conditions:nnManual: Some manual skills/motor coord & finger dexteritynnOccupational: Little or no potential for occupational risknnPhysical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort.
