Purpose: The RN is responsible for delivering quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: - Taking complete, accurate messages from patients and relaying them to appropriate Provider.
- Schedules, coordinates and reschedules all patient appointments (includes office, outpatient procedures, hospitals, and other medical facilities);
- Utilizes nursing process effectively in assessing patient needs and planning appropriate follow-up/intervention.
- Documents assessment and interventions thoroughly and concisely.
- Develops patient education materials, triage protocols, and clinical guidelines in collaboration with physicians.
- Provides patient/staff education.
- Oversees LPN's and MA's.
- Performs specialty procedures as trained and as needed, as well as assisting M.D. with patients in office including: IV therapy, IV/Blood product infusions, Chemotherapy, Cardiac stress tests, wound care, injections.
- Monitor infection control requirements.
- Assure compliance with OSHA standards within Department.
- Respond to emergency situations as necessary.
- Maintains patient confidentiality while performing all duties
- Performs telephone triage as needed.
Other Duties: - Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS Required :
- North Carolina or Compact RN license
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- BLS/CPR Certification
