Job Title: RN L&D
Location: Morristown, NJ
Duration: 3 Months+
Schedule: 7 am - 7 pm
**STIPEND IS ALSO PROVIDED TO THE CANDIDATE LIVING MORE THAN 50 MILES FROM THE FACILITY**
Responsibilities:
  • Competent knowledge of all the normal stages of growth and development from Pediatric to Geriatric and delivers patient care appropriately.
  • Performs thorough assessments that are systematic, comprehensive and accurate.
  • Performs direct patient care activities in support of patient care delivery and team concept.
  • Provides competent and appropriate nursing care to the population of the unit.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill of emergency equipment and procedures.
  • Assumes primary responsibility for documenting components of the nursing process and patient's progress toward meeting outcomes in the patient's chart including patient education.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedures and can identify areas for clinical and professional growth.
  • Consistently responds to patients/families and co-workers in a professional, courteous, positive manner to promote an environment where the patient and family is at the center and the patient care team works cooperatively toward their goal and objectives.
  • Consistently follows the National Patient Safety Goals including following Universal Protocol and identifying patient's utilizing 2 patient identifiers.
  • Demonstrates use of safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics for self, and patients.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the conditions/diagnoses, procedures and equipment encountered for surgical patients.
  • Individualizes patient care according to the procedure and type of anesthesia across the continuum of care.
  • Assesses patient reaction and understanding of procedure/instructions.
  • Contributes to the perioperative team by assuming responsibility and accountability for directing patient care by prioritizing the care of patients depending on their needs and any changes in their condition.
  • Assesses patient's understanding of surgical procedure/instructions, actively including the patient and family members in teaching.
  • Perform pre-operative and postoperative assessment and education.
  • Evaluates Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness and for potential omissions based on proposed surgery, patient age, and current state of health.

Requirements:
  • NJ/Compact RN License
  • BLS & ACLS from American Heart Association (AHA)
  • NRP
  • 2 years L&D experience required
  • EPIC experience highly preferred
