NVS works in partnership with Ethos Veterinary Health.nnJob Summary: The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including but not limited to enforcing company policies and practices, managing employee relations, conducting investigations, administering leaves, and acting as a liaison for employees and leadership.nnPosition Responsibilities:nnDevelop and maintain job descriptions in conjunction with key staff and according to guidelinesnnDevelop and maintain staff performance appraisal process, ensuring timeliness and providing guidancennMaintain and revise Employee Handbook according to established guidelinesnnCreate, revise and maintain human resources policies and proceduresnnPlan, monitor and appraise HR activities by scheduling conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; assisting with action plans, as appropriate; training managers to coach and discipline employees and counseling employees.nnEnsure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing HR federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, overseeing Worker’s Compensation Cases and maintaining records.nnHandles confidential matters with discretion.nnAttends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.nnMaintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.nnAssists with onboarding new hires as needed.nnAssists with recruitment and payroll/benefits as needed.nnServes as payroll processing backup.nnConducts employee Stay and Exit Interviews.nnAdministers and tracks leaves of absences in compliance with applicable laws.nnConsults with Ethos HRBP and legal as necessary on high-risk issues and concerns.nnOversees Penn Foster Scholarship Program.nnRequires regular travel to other hospital in Clarskville.nnPerforms other duties as assigned.nnQualifications:nnAssociate or bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, psychology, or another related field.nnMinimum 5 years HR experience required or combination of education and experience.nnExcellent communication skills, writing skills, interpersonal skills and ethical mindset.nnThorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.nnSHRM or PHR Certification preferred, but not required.nnExperience working in HR in human or veterinary medical field preferred, but not required.nnAdept at problem-solving and conflict resolution.nnProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.nnExperience and knowledge of different types of leaves such as FMLA, ADA, etc.nnHighly skilled in emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and listening to understand.nnTeam spirited, goal-oriented and detail-oriented.nnAbility to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.nnPhysical/Environmental Requirements: This job classification requires that the applicant be capable of standing continuously for up to four hours with little or no breaks during; sitting; lifting up to 50 pounds; carrying up to 50 pounds; reaching; speaking; seeing; and hearing.
