We strive to offer an appropriate level of quality and ensure materials and services are delivered on schedule and in compliance with the client’s specifications and expectations.nnResponsibilitiesnn• Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors and other representativesnn• Purchase the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost in correct amounts per specifications and drawingsnn• Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventoriesnn• Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the supplier’s reputation and historynn• Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and determine needs for changesnn• Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and servicesnn• Design and present an End of Program Presentation to showcase your work and development throughout this internshipnnQualificationsnn• Ability to work full-time during the summer (approximately May-August)nn• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Supply Chain Management or relatednn• Genuine interest and passion for the field of purchasing/procurementnn• Strong customer service and communication skillsnn• Detail-oriented, highly motivated with ability to effectively manage timenn• Team player with the ability to work well independentlynn• Ability to maintain excellent attendancenn• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background checknnPreferred Skills:nn• Technical knowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsnn• Customer service and leadership experiencennOther Requirements:nn• Regular, reliable attendancenn• Work productively and meet deadlines timelynn• Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environmentnn• Perform work safely and effectively.
