Purpose of Job: This position is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in a clinic setting. Responsible for facilitating patient/physician/provider communication and coordination of care. Job Functions: Escorts patients to examination room and obtains vitals and patient histories; documents in EMR. Performs telephone assessment of patient condition and determines appropriate treatment for patient under the supervision of the provider. Administers prescribed medications/vaccines and treatments in accordance with clinic policies. Prepares equipment and assists providers during examination, testing and treatment of patients. Assists in maintaining stocked supplies and sterilizes instruments/exam room. Performs room turn over in patient rooms between cases and at end of day. Assists in arranging referrals/prior authorizations as necessary. Provides patient education. Performs other duties as assigned.
