Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse Trauma POSITION TYPE: Registered Nurse (RN) SPECIALTY UNIT: Medical/Surgical - Trauma LOCATION: Richmond, VA SHIFT: Days JOB TYPE: Full-Time Permanent Job Description: We are looking for an RN-Med/Surg Nurse Educator to provide the highest degree of education to our nurses for care and treatment to ill, injured, and recovering patients.
Nurse educators are the driving force behind the training of skilled nursing professionals. Nurse educators are registered nurses who combine their clinical experience and academic expertise to train students in nursing skills. They determine educational curriculum and standards, prepare students to successfully transition out of academia, empower new nurses to thrive in the nursing profession, and improve the systems that uphold nurse education.
Responsibilities: - Demonstrate clinical and instructional expertise.
- Responsible for nursing staff development, delivers, coordinates, and evaluates learning activities for nursing staff to meet orientation, regulatory training, and continuing education needs.
- Collaborates with the nursing management team to support quality patient care and strategic initiatives.
- Exhibits creative and effective problem solving and initiative in managing change.
- Independently and efficiently performs responsibilities and day to day tasks.
- Design and implementation of staff development programs and demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal competencies.

Requirements: - Active RN license within the State of practice.
- Associate degree in Nursing required.
- 3-4 years of experience as Registered Nurse in a medical surgical unit.
- 2-3 years Professional in Nursing Experience as staff educator in Med/Surg preferred.
- Demonstrate expertise in area of clinical specialization; exceptional interpersonal relations and skills in problem solving, learning, instructing, and instructional planning. Computer literate, including use of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Professional, collaborative, innovative, flexible, and able and willing to assist team members hands on to assure high quality, safe and effective patient care for the population served.
- Experience assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating education needs for team members supporting care of the patient population of the specialty area supported.
