Nursing care is provided to the individual patient, based upon cultural, spiritual and age specific needs.nnPRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:nn*Quality/No Harm: *n• Demonstrates effective medication administration provided to patients as evidenced by Preceptor Observation Tool, Skills Fair Demonstration, and Clinical Practice.n• Perform a variety of duties in an operating room observing proper techniques to include preparing rooms with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment; open sterile supplies and arrange sterile setups for operations.n• Creates, maintains, and terminates sterile field for surgical procedures.n• Properly handles and cares for all instruments and equipment. Checks materials and equipmentn• Anticipates needs of surgeon and surgical assistants in the operating room, passing instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies needed in an operative procedure.n• Demonstrates appropriate delegation and supervision of patient care activities within the healthcare setting.n• Demonstrates effective communication with other members of the healthcare team and promotes effective team functioning.n• Utilizes Health First computer systems with regards to order entry, order inquiry, and patient care documentation.n• Demonstrates effective and safe clinical practice as evidenced by Skills Fair demonstration, completion of yearly Competency Assessment, and Age Specific Checklist.n• Coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care based on current evidence based practice.n• Documents all nursing care, change in condition, response to therapy, treatments, procedures and referrals on patient record to meet standards.n• Demonstrates dependability, reliability and flexibility.n• Accomplishes turnover in a timely manner, specific to facility by assisting the entire team with cleaning and organization of supplies.n• Prepares and organizes supplies and materials for the special needs of the patient, surgical procedure, and surgeon’s preference in a cost effective manner.n• Demonstrates LEAN thinking as well as generates LEAN ideas.n• Leads LEAN projects.n• Demonstrates a clear understanding of surgeon specific preferences.nnCustomer Experience:n• Provides patient, family, and/or caregiver education as directed by the plan of care.n• Provides service to patients and families with sensitivity and respect for their needs, expectations, age, cultural, and individual differences.n• Contributes to the patient experience as evidenced by positive patient satisfaction scores and HCAHPs scores for department/medical center and/or written compliments by patients/others.nnQUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:n• Associate Degree, Diploma or Bachelor from an approved/accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).n• Current Florida RN licensure.n• Must hold current American Heart Association BLS HealthCare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain.
