Tesla's Engineering & Design Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team is seeking a flexible, highly organized, and hard-working candidate to execute and continuously improve its' advanced and in-person EHS training programs. Individuals should have a passion for and understanding of personal development through the training process. Must have outstanding communication, presentation, and strong organizational skills while demonstrating a positive, motivational, and professional appearance. The EHS Technical Training Specialist will deliver content that enhances Trainees' understanding of how they can improve operational performance through EHS competency and is capable of quickly adapting the training to the needs of the specific audience.
Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining high-quality EHS training content is a core responsibility. The Specialist designs engaging e-learning modules, instructional videos, and assessments in collaboration with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards
- Regularly reviewing and updating training materials to reflect the latest EHS policies and industry best practices is essential to maintain the relevance and effectiveness of the training programs
- Create course materials, such as PowerPoints, one-page handouts, and competency tests for instructor-led programs taught by self or others. Schedule training and development classes to meet customer demand. Manage records appropriately
- Act as the Learning Management Systems (LMS) Administrator. The Specialist will manage user access, track training compliance, and maintain the integrity of training data. Use a variety of tools, equipment, and methods to execute high quality training, gather Trainee feedback, and report on training goals and initiative progress
- Train and certify Tesla Engineers and Engineering Technicians for: NFPA 70E arc flash/arc blast, emergency response (including First aid/CPR/AED/Stop-the-bleed), fabrication tool safety, respiratory protection, lock-out tag-out, fall protection, confined space and any product-specific safety training that may be requested
- Partner with the EHS to drive continuous improvement in training gaps and ensure that all trainings meet OSHA safety requirements. Support site Engineers, Engineering Technicians, and Managers to develop product-specific or lab-specific training. Interface with other technical training teams to create consistency of content between sites
- Travel occasionally to support unique training demands at other Tesla sites and to collaborate with other Trainers and program Subject Matter Experts (SME's)
Requirements - Bachelor's Degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3+ years of training experience, preferably within a fast-paced R&D environment specializing in vehicle design, energy products, or similar
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with one or more of the following: NFPA 70E arc flash/arc blast, emergency response (including First aid/AED/CPR/Stop-the-bleed), fabrication tool safety, respiratory protection, lock-out tag-out, fall protection, confined space, or other relevant training experience
- Proficiency in developing training programs and materials, including student assessments, and experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Excellent oral and written training/communication skills. Proficiency with current Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated experience as a team-oriented self-starter, eager to meet and exceed objectives, with the ability to handle a multi-project environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of business processes and systems (i.e., operational workflows, industrial safety processes, using software applications for document and communication, etc.)
- Position will require flexibility in working hours and occasional evenings and weekend work based on training program demand

Expected Compensation
$80,000 - $144,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
