Description About the Role
We are currently looking for a skilled Painter to join our team at our Red Deer manufacturing facility. The Painter is responsible for first class workmanship in the preparation of metal materials and the application of high-quality lasting finishes on Badger manufactured product and will supervise the coating process and department employees in all aspects of their daily duties to meet the production schedule.
What You'll Be Doing
Application of paint to Badger manufactured products (e.g. Hydrovac equipment).
Follows quality control process by completing inspections for any flaws in between application of coats.
Conducts preventative maintenance of paint spray equipment and daily inspections of work equipment.
Prepares metal components to be painted and ensures the proper disposal of leftover materials as per legislative requirements.
Trains and guides employees in the operation, cleaning, and maintenance of painting tools and equipment as well as the mixing and application of primers and high-performance coatings to metal surfaces, fabricated parts, assemblies, and structures to obtain desired color and consistency.
Qualifications What You'll Need for Success
Education high school diploma or GED.
Minimum 6 months of hands-on experience as a manufacturing spray painter required.
Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies more than 25 pounds.
Must be able to distinguish colors.
Sandblaster experience preferred.

The salary for this position will be commensurate with education or work experience.
Candidates will be required to successfully complete pre-employment screening, which may include criminal background check, driver’s abstract review and drug and alcohol test.
Successful candidates must provide their own safety footwear -CSA/ANSI approved, steel or composite toe, puncture resistant, min.15 cm (6”) high, min. 1.2cm (½’) heel)- which will be reimbursed after successfully completing 3 month of employment. Other personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vests, etc.) will be provided.
