POSITION SUMMARY:nnTo be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by demonstrating leadership through the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care according to the standards of professional nursing practice. Nursing care is provided to the individual patient, based upon cultural, spiritual and age specific needs.nnPRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:nnQuality/No Harm:nnDemonstrates effective medication administration provided to patients as evidenced by Preceptor Observation Tool, Skills Fair Demonstration, and Clinical Practice.nPerform a variety of duties in an operating room observing proper techniques to include preparing rooms with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies, and equipment; open sterile supplies and arrange sterile setups for operations.nCreates, maintains, and terminates sterile field for surgical procedures.nProperly handles and cares for all instruments and equipment. Checks materials and equipmentnAnticipates needs of surgeon and surgical assistants in the operating room, passing instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies needed in an operative procedure.nDemonstrates appropriate delegation and supervision of patient care activities within the healthcare setting.nDemonstrates effective communication with other members of the healthcare team and promotes effective team functioning.nUtilizes Health First computer systems with regards to order entry, order inquiry, and patient care documentation.nDemonstrates effective and safe clinical practice as evidenced by Skills Fair demonstration, completion of yearly Competency Assessment, and Age Specific Checklist.nCoordinates interdisciplinary plan of care based on current evidence based practice.nDocuments all nursing care, change in condition, response to therapy, treatments, procedures and referrals on patient record to meet standards.nDemonstrates dependability, reliability and flexibility.nAccomplishes turnover in a timely manner, specific to facility by assisting the entire team with cleaning and organization of supplies.nPrepares and organizes supplies and materials for the special needs of the patient, surgical procedure, and surgeon’s preference in a cost effective manner.nDemonstrates LEAN thinking as well as generates LEAN ideas.nLeads LEAN projects.nDemonstrates a clear understanding of surgeon specific preferences.nnCustomer Experience:nnProvides patient, family, and/or caregiver education as directed by the plan of care.nProvides service to patients and families with sensitivity and respect for their needs, expectations, age, cultural, and individual differences.nContributes to the patient experience as evidenced by positive patient satisfaction scores and HCAHPs scores for department/medical center and/or written compliments by patients/others.nnQUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:nnAssociate Degree, Diploma or Bachelor from an approved/accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).nCurrent Florida RN licensure.nMust hold current American Heart Association BLS HealthCare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain. (ACLS preferred).nMust be able to perform CVOR circulator and CVOR scrub roles.nMust be able to take rotating call including some weekends.nCNOR preferred but not required.nnPHYSICAL DEMANDS:nnMust have visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks.nMust have corrected vision and hearing to normal range.nMust be able to lift, turn, pull, push or ambulate patients/equipment up to 90% of the assigned shift.nMust be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted up to 33% of the assigned shift.nMust be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop up to 90% of assigned shift.nPotential for exposure to bio-hazardous waste, and known or unknown disease.nnMENTAL DEMANDS:nnMust have ability to work in often stressful environment with patients/families at various ages and levels of understanding.nMust have ability to concentrate on multiple priority activities.nMust have ability to concentrate on multiple priority activities.nMust have ability to respond appropriately to life threatening situations .nMust have critical thinking and problem solving skills.nnJob: *Clinical Nurse SpecialistnnOrganization: *Holmes Regional Medical CenternnTitle: CVOR RN (Circulator and Scrub) - Open HeartnnLocation: Florida - Brevard County-MelbournennRequisition ID: 076073
