A rehabilitation services organization on Long Island is currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join one of their corrections facilities in Suffolk County.
About the Opportunity:
- Setting: Corrections
- Shifts: Days or Evenings
- Schedule: 3 to 5 shifts per week
- Hours: 7am to 3pm or 3pm or 11pm
Responsibilities: The Corrections Nurse (RN) will:
- Assess patient health problems and needs
- Develop and implement nursing care plans
- Maintain medical records
- Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients
- Advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications: - Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Solid assessment and documentation skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills: - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Experience in a Corrections setting
- Previous experience administering vaccinations
