A leading healthcare organization in New York City is seeking a Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs to join their team. This key leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee a team of regulatory professionals while managing and interpreting regulatory requirements across the organization's portfolio, ensuring compliance and alignment with federal, state, and local laws.
*This is a hybrid position, offering a primarily remote work environment with occasional in-office requirements as needed.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs will be responsible for:
- Leading and supervising the Regulatory Affairs unit to analyze, interpret, and communicate new regulatory requirements across the organization
- Ensuring regulatory updates and product contract changes are disseminated to appropriate stakeholders
- Providing regulatory support, interpretation, and clarification from regulatory bodies while communicating key issues to internal divisions
- Partnering with Compliance teams to understand and implement Federal, State, and Local regulations
- Establishing protocols for overseeing the implementation of new rules, including service carve-ins for insurance products
- Developing actionable communications to inform stakeholders of regulatory changes and their impact
- Collaborating with Compliance teams on external audits and surveys, such as NYS Department of Health Article 44 program audits
- Engaging with regulatory agencies and trade associations and managing external regulatory complaints and fair hearings
- Supporting business leaders in understanding regulatory changes and achieving organizational goals
- Anticipating policy trends and coordinating advocacy strategies with government relations
- Driving team success, engagement, and professional development to address complex regulatory challenges
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 10 years of experience working with Medicare and Medicaid laws/regulations in a managed care compliance or regulatory department, including holding a senior position
- In-depth knowledge of health law, managed care regulations, and compliance programs
- Expertise in healthcare administration standards, health plan operations, and regulatory frameworks
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct and supervise personnel effectively
- Proven experience building relationships across business groups and external stakeholders
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex regulatory issues
Desired Skills:
