DescriptionnnPer Diem Medical Office LPN position in the Float Team department in Danbury, CTnnMonday- Friday 8 hour shifts between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pmnnPer Diem Hourly Rate: 29.40 + $4/hour for Float Pool DifferentialnnSummary:nnTo assist the physician or physician assistant in providing primary medical care to the patients of the Office Practice.nnResponsibilities:nnPrepares materials, supplies, equipment and the patient to assist the physician or the physician assistant with the patient's medical exam.nnObtains the patients history and basic medical data such as vital signs temperature, height & weight, vision & chief complaint.nnProvides direct patient care, such as ear irrigation, vaccinations and medications, wound care & suture removal.nnCollects, prepares and analyzes patient specimens as directed by the physician or physician assistant.nnInstructs the patient and family on how to perform physician recommended preventive care, take prescribed medication, prepare for tests, monitor treatment progress & note symptom changes.nnContacts the patient by telephone to provide requested follow-up, advise them of test results or relay a physician's instructions.nnPerforms organizational responsibilities to achieve the Practices' and WCMG missions through a process of total quality improvement.nnCompletes all meaningful use requirements.nnFulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.nnMaintains and Model Nuvance Health Values.nnDemonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.nnPerforms other duties as assigned.nnRequired:nnBasic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of starting.nnLicensed Practical Nurse licensure.nnBasic medical knowledge and terminology.nnComputer skills/data entry.nnSkilled in obtaining accurate patient vitals.nnVaccine administration and medication preparation.nnPreferred:nnMinimum Experience: one year.nnProficiency in multiple languages.nnPhlebotomy.nnEKG.nnEducation Required:nnHS Graduate or Equivalent.nnGraduate of an accredited LPN Program.nnOrg Unit: 596nnDepartment: Float TeamnnExempt: NonnGrade: S7nnWorking conditions:nnEssential:nnSome manual skills / motor coord & finger dexteritynnMedium to Heavy effort.
