Facility in Redding, CA seeking Neonatology locums coverage Rates: $3,000 with 8 hour gratis. Call back $300/hr after 8 hours Coverage Dates: - November 27 - December 1, 2024 (Thanksgiving holiday and weekend)
Responsibilities: - NICU Rounds: Round in the NICU once per day and manage calls from nursing staff. No nursery rounding (handled by pediatric hospitalists).
- Setting: Level III NICU
- Trauma Level: Level II Trauma Center
- EMR: Cerner Care B
Required Procedures: - Ventilatory assistance (ETT CPAP).
- Nasal CPAP (extended periods).
- Surfactant administration (beyond initial dose).
- Cardiac pressor administration.
- FiO2 > 0.60.
- PaCO2 > 50 on arterial blood gases.
- Placement of arterial/central lines.
- Chest tube insertion.
- TPN Hyperalimentation.
- Exchange transfusion.
- Managing babies
- Managing birth weights
Support Staff: - NICU nurses
- Family Practice Residents (supervised by neonatologist)
- Laborists, Pediatric Hospitalists
- No APP support
Reason for Coverage: Gaps in NICU coverage.
Credentialing Information: - Timeframe: 30 days if eligible for temporary/locum tenens privileges.
- Requirements: Active staff at TJC accredited facility (not locum).
Additional Facility Information: - Patient Census: NICU daily census 7-12.
Requirements: - Board Certified or Eligible in Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine Required.
- Active CA License Required.
- BLS, NRP, DEA Required during credentialing.
- Paneled member of California Children Services (CCS) Required but may be waived.
- Substantial recent experience in neonatology Required.
- Clean malpractice record Required.
- Availability must be listed at time of name clear Required.
