MHC Healthcare is seeking a Pediatrician to join our Pediatric care team at the Wilmot Family Health Center, located in Tucson, AZ.
The Pediatrician provides clinical leadership and oversight to the professional support staff. As a Physician, provides health care services to patients. MHC Healthcare is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 14 sites in Tucson and Pima County. MHC Healthcare is building a world-class primary health care system that is committed to caring for special populations, and focused on improving health outcomes for our patients.
The ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:

  • Licensed to practice pediatric medicine in Arizona, a graduate of an accredited medical school and board certified in a pediatric care specialty; required.
  • Meets current CME requirement for licensure and maintenance of board certification; required.
  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited school; required.
  • 2-5 years' experience in Pediatric/Medical Practice, preferably in a group setting; preferred.
  • Credentialed with all health care plans accepted by the Health Center; required.
  • BLS certification; required.
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card through DPS; required.
The ideal candidate will also possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Possess a reasonable level of knowledge of community and public health systems and issues.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of pharmacology, nutrition and mental health.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others effectively; to exercise good judgment in appraising situations and making decisions; to deal tactfully and effectively with the public.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to apply mathematical and statistical concepts.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs) in its most difficult phases.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to work and interact effectively and positively with other staff members to build and enhance teamwork among provider staff and in the overall Health Center organization.
  • Ability to understand and respond appropriately, effectively and sensitively to special population groups served by the Health Center. Special population groups include those defined by race, ethnicity, language, age gender, disability and sexual orientation.
  • Ability to understand and utilize basic accounting reports, such as budgets, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
  • Basic knowledge of employee law, OSHA standards, corporate compliance, HIPAA, JCAHO and other applicable laws and regulations.
