JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Addictive Behaviors Laboratory in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Penn State College of Medicine, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a part-time research assistant to support the implementation of tobacco clinical trials. The primary goals of the position are to recruit participants, conduct study visits, carry out standard operating procedures, and manage data. Study visits typically include collecting informed consent; collecting biosamples and physiological measurement; and administering surveys, clinical interviews, and computer tasks. The research assistant may also dispense harm-reduction tobacco products, implement experimental or therapeutic interventions, or administer qualitative interviews. The research assistant will assist with data management and may be involved in data cleaning, preprocessing, and analysis. The research assistant will work with the College Marketing Office to recruit participants using phone, email, letters, and social media. The research assistant may be asked to speak about the research at community recruiting events. The position will be directly supervised and overseen by the principal investigator. The position involves coordination with other staff and collaboration with investigators at Penn State University and their research teams. This position is located in the Penn State College of Medicine and will conduct study visits at the Clinical Research Center and MRI Core Facility located on the Hershey Campus. The position is supported by funds from the National Institutes of Health.
