Role and Responsibilities : The Meat Room Custodian is responsible for keeping the meat room of the commissary/grocery store clean, safe, and sanitary. Wash and sanitize meat tools like slicers and grinders to keep everything safe. Make sure meat preparation and storage areas are tidy and follow health rules. Get rid of meat scraps properly, following safety rules. Monitor fridges to keep meat at safe temperatures. Refill cleaning products and safety gear for the team. Assist with moving meat and getting packaging ready. Wash the tools and surfaces used by butchers. Keep meat displays looking nice and clean. Practice good handwashing and sanitation. Check meat for quality and freshness, and let supervisors know about any issues. Talk with the team about cleaning schedules and what supplies are needed. Maintain records of cleaning and sanitation as required. Adhere to cleanliness, safety, and hygiene rules. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, gran and lift up to (75) lbs. Must be able to stand and walk the entire shift.
