Job Title : Medical Science Liaison (MSL) - Nephrology


Location : San Francisco, CA


Are you a dynamic Medical Science Liaison (MSL) with a passion for nephrology? Our client, an innovative leader in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, is looking for a highly motivated MSL to join their team in the San Francisco area. This role offers an opportunity to engage with thought leaders, provide scientific expertise, and make a meaningful impact on patient care.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Serve as a primary scientific resource for nephrology-focused healthcare professionals (HCPs) in the San Francisco / Pacific NW territory.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and other external stakeholders to advance the understanding of the client’s therapeutic portfolio.
  • Provide scientific support for clinical trial activities, including investigator-initiated trials and company-sponsored studies.
  • Deliver impactful presentations and educational sessions to healthcare providers, aligning with the company’s clinical and medical objectives.
  • Respond to complex medical and scientific inquiries with in-depth knowledge of the products, studies, and emerging data in nephrology.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including medical affairs, clinical development, and commercial, to support strategic initiatives.
  • Stay current on the latest developments in nephrology and competitive landscape to ensure alignment with scientific and market trends.

Qualifications :

  • Education : Doctoral degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent) is required.
  • Experience : At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Science Liaison or in a similar role.
  • Therapeutic Area Knowledge : Strong understanding of nephrology, including dialysis, chronic kidney disease (CKD), or other renal conditions.
  • Skills :
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with KOLs and HCPs.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and convey scientific data effectively.
  • Comfort with a field-based role, including up to 50-70% travel within the territory.
