Gretel is an independent branding, strategy and design studio based in Brooklyn, NY. We work on a range of strategy, design and identity projects for local, national and global clients like Nike, The New York Times, Restaurant Noma, The Museum of Modern Art, MasterClass, Netflix, Knoll and Japan’s biggest publisher, Kodansha.
About The Role
Gretel is seeking a Senior Designer to join our team.
Your primary role as a senior designer is to generate and execute unique concepts and design across a variety of applications. Strategic thinking informs your design choices, and you can vary the tone and range of your work across a visual identity system. You’ll work within a project team to conceive, communicate, present, and deliver best-in-class creative solutions to project briefs.
On a given day you might:
- Create broad creative concepts informed by strategy and the project brief
- Sketch and explore specific design systems along with their individual brand elements
- Work with the motion design team to explore motion and interaction behaviors
- Help set art direction, photography and illustration styles
- Attend strategy sessions and internal creative workshops
- Work with the Creative or Design Director to elevate craft and refine design expression
- Present your work alongside the team to clients in meetings and presentations
- Help mentor other Designers, Associate Designers and interns to improve their work and skills

Requirements + Salary:
Experience: 4-8 years of professional design experience
Salary range: $105,000 - $115,000
