Title: Corporate Enterprise Risk Management Specialist

Location: Stamford, Connecticut


Position Overview:

As a member of this team, you will collaborate with senior executives and business unit leaders to manage and mitigate risk across various domains. The role offers exposure to diverse risk management disciplines, including casualty accumulation, catastrophe modeling, emerging risks like cyber threats, and climate-related risks. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the company’s strategic direction while developing a deep expertise in risk management.


Key Responsibilities:

Risk Accumulation and Data Analysis:

  • Develop and optimize processes for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) casualty data.
  • Analyze and visualize risk accumulation patterns across lines of business, industries, and insured entities to provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Create and model casualty catastrophe scenarios based on historical data and future trends.

Emerging Risk Identification and Assessment:

  • Assist in monitoring and quantifying cyber risk exposure, including modeling potential cyber event scenarios.
  • Research and evaluate emerging risks, including the financial impact of climate change, on both insurance portfolios and invested assets.

Comprehensive Risk Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Aggregate and assess risk exposure across various lines of business, including property and workers' compensation.
  • Contribute to risk reporting and analysis for senior management, regulators, and rating agencies.
  • Support key risk management initiatives, including automation and continuous process improvement.

Global Risk Framework and Process Support:

  • Help implement and maintain risk assessment procedures across both domestic and international operations.
  • Assist with monitoring the effectiveness of risk management processes and support ongoing improvements.


Qualifications:

Required:

  • Proficiency in Python and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with casualty lines of business (e.g., general liability, professional liability).
  • 3 to 10 years of relevant experience in actuarial, risk management, or related fields.

Preferred:

  • Associate-level actuarial designation (ACAS) or similar qualifications.


Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM-related discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.).
