The Senior Procurement Specialist will serve as the primary procurement point of contact, managing procurement activities and ensuring effective communication between the New York office and the global team. Reporting to the Global Sourcing Lead, the role involves collaborating with internal stakeholders and suppliers to deliver procurement strategies that drive value, efficiency, and innovation, with a strong focus on indirect procurement.
Essential Job Functions
Strategic Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the Single Point of Contact for procurement-related topics.
- Partner with stakeholders to build strong business relationships and achieve strategic objectives.
- Understand business needs, manage expectations, and develop procurement solutions tailored to requirements.
- Develop Annual Procurement Plans to enable proactive and strategic engagement.
- Provide training and guidance on procurement policies, tools, and best practices to elevate organizational procurement acumen.
Sourcing Strategy and Execution
- Lead and execute sourcing initiatives, including Purchase Order creation, supplier onboarding, and contract management, with a focus on indirect spend categories (e.g., professional services, IT, marketing, facilities).
- Manage the full supplier lifecycle, including registration, reactivation, and deactivation processes.
- Drive contract negotiations to ensure favorable terms, risk mitigation, and alignment with company goals.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and value-added initiatives in the procurement process.
- Conduct market research and benchmarking to stay informed about industry trends, pricing dynamics, and best practices in indirect procurement.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and produce regular and ad-hoc reports as needed.
Supplier Relationship Management
- Lead cross-functional review meetings with key suppliers to evaluate performance, resolve issues, and foster innovation.
- Maintain and develop strategic relationships with key vendors and suppliers to ensure the delivery of quality services, cost-effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
Position Requirements/Experience
- Minimum BA or equivalent.
- 3+ years’ experience in procurement/sourcing with significant experience in indirect procurement highly preferred.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple strategic projects, and collaborate with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a strategic mindset.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Oracle Fusion (or similar sourcing and procurement systems).
