Innovative Driven is currently seeking a Senior Conflicts Attorney to join the NYC-based team at one of our prestigious international law firm clients!
This position is a tremendous opportunity to join the Office of the General Counsel at the firm, supporting new matter intake and lateral attorney hiring by helping to identify, analyze and resolve conflicts of interest.
The weekly hours are Monday-Friday, 9:30-5:30, and the firm operates in a hybrid structure (3 days onsite in NYC and 2 days remote). This role does not have a billable hour requirement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Advise on the information required to complete conflicts of interest checks.
- Gather, review, and analyze conflicts of interest reports and identify any potential conflicts
- Prepare concise summary reports for attorneys, identifying potential conflicts issues
- Facilitate the prompt resolution of conflicts issues, including whether waivers may be required
- Counsel legal team on conflicts issues as they arise.
- Assist with drafting and reviewing waiver letters and engagement letter provisions
- Set up information screens, where required
- Conduct trainings for personnel and attorneys on the conflicts process
- Collaborate with the Office of General Counsel and other stakeholders on the conflicts process
- Assist with the hiring, training and managing of Conflicts Analysts
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong working knowledge of the conflicts of interest rules in the New York Rules of Professional Conduct.
- Previous conflicts analysis, research, and resolution experience from a global law firm is highly preferred
- J.D. from an accredited law school is required.
- Must be licensed to practice law in any US jurisdiction (though New York preferred) and in good standing.
- Flexibility to occasionally work nights and weekends to assist with urgent matters
