The talent management roster includes Photographers, DPs, Hair, Makeup, Stylists, Production Designers & more. The production arm provides end to end services for both still and live action media. With an established roster of world-class talent, we are expanding into a new, exciting phase of growth: building a division dedicated to managing commercial directors. This is a pivotal opportunity for the right person to join us at the ground level and shape the future of South James’ Director division.

Role Overview:

As the Director Agent and Creative Producer, you will serve as the driving force behind South James’ new Director division. Acting as the lead of this vertical, you will work closely with the company’s owners to identify, sign, and develop a roster of commercial directors while leveraging your expertise to find them work, negotiate deals, and guide their careers. This role also includes a creative production component, supporting projects as an on-set producer, creative producer, or both, depending on your strengths. This is a remote job, but with preference of a New York based candidate.

Responsibilities:

Build the Roster:

• Identify and recruit top commercial directors with compelling creative visions and marketable skills.
• Establish and nurture long-term relationships with directors, ensuring alignment with the South James ethos and standards.

Business Development:

• Utilize existing relationships and cultivate new ones with brands, agencies, and production companies to create opportunities for your directors.
• Act as a trusted liaison between directors and clients, ensuring smooth collaboration and outstanding results.

Career Management:

• Pitch directors to clients and negotiate their projects, including creative scope, budgets, and contracts.
• Provide strategic career guidance to directors, aligning their goals with industry trends and opportunities.

Production Leadership:

• Oversee production aspects of directors’ projects, potentially serving as an on-set producer or creative producer as needed.
• Collaborate with clients and teams to ensure projects are executed at the highest creative and operational standards.

Division Growth:

• Strategically shape the future of the Directors division, from its inception to scaling operations.
• Develop processes, systems, and metrics for success, working closely with South James leadership.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Agent, Producer, or similar role in the commercial production industry.
• Strong network of relationships with both directors and clients, including brands, agencies, and production companies.
• Deep understanding of the commercial production process, from pitching to execution.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for building and scaling new ventures.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution.
